Welcome Associates!
First off we would like to extend a warm welcome to our new and amazing associate class of Spring 2025, The Princess Pide! It’s been a joy to get to know all of them and see them at DKA programming events and around campus. These associates have been working hard preparing for the national exam and we are all rooting for them!
Oscars
It’s award season and for the
first time in years, we were able to
hold our DKA Oscars Watch Party
to the excitement of everyone in the
chapter! Whether our favorite films
won, lost, or weren’t nominated for
any awards (looking at you Challeng
ers), we all had a great time making
predictions and watching the ceremo
ny together.
Screenings
We’ve been continuing our pro
gramming this semester with lots of
screenings as well as pre and post
screening discussions. Screenings so
far have included films such as Taste
of Cherry, Sound of Metal, Para
site and Mulholland Drive, serving
as a tribute to the late David Lynch
and pictured on the right. Be on the
lookout for upcoming screenings
including His Motorbike, Her Island,
Close-Up, Fallen Angels, and many
more.
Workshops & Trivia
Along with screenings, we’ve also been
having some amazing workshops and
trivia nights. Larri’s After Effects work
shop was a great introduction to the vi
sual effect and motion graphics software,
and Amelia’s Rom-Com Trivia was a fun
Valentine’s Day celebration of all of our
favorite romantic comedies. Be sure to be
on the lookout for more events happening
in the coming weeks!
Oscar Ballots
Our first fundraiser of the
semester went off without a hitch,
giving people the ability to fill out
their very own Oscar ballots for a
chance to win a gift card for the most
accurate ballot. Special thanks to all
the DeKas who tabled in Park for
the fundraiser and an extra special
thanks to everyone who bought a
ballot!
Jewel of the Week
Congratulations to all of our Jewel of the Week winners and thank you for representing the Jewels of DKA in all aspects of your lives.
Farewell
Well that’s about it for this issue of the DKA
Pi Chapter Cinejournal. I hope you’ve enjoyed read
ing and learning about all the things our chapter has
been up to recently. Be on the lookout for the next
issue coming out in early April. But until then, this
